Our approach to SEND
Our schools are located within a borough with higher than average levels of pupils with SEND.
The number of pupils with SEND in our schools is rising and ensuring our schools can meet their needs sustainably is a priority.
We have a Trust wide SEND network, led by our Trust SEND lead, which supports SEND and inclusion leaders. Our SEND policies and systems are centrally developed to help schools by focusing their capacity on individual pupils. Each school benefits from a biennial review done in collaboration with our SEND team and external specialists.
In 2022/23, training included SEND law and EEF effective SEND. In 2023/4, we will also offer the SENCo qualification and lead a Teaching Assistant training pilot.
