57% of students achieved at least one A grade or equivalent with over 23% of students gaining an A* or A grade in each of their subjects. It is expected that the vast majority of students will progress to their first choice of university, college or apprenticeship, including six students who have secured places at Oxford and Cambridge and three students going on to medical school.

72% of all A level grades this year were A*-B, up from 67% in 2018. 44% of all A levels sat by students at the school achieved A*/A, up from 41% last year. 49% of our Year 13 students gained at least three A levels with A* to B grades, up from 44% last year.

It was also another strong performance this year in BTEC subjects with 100% of students taking the Sports and Leisure BTEC gaining a Distinction or Merit grade, 93% gaining a Distinction or Merit in the Performing Arts BTEC and 82% of gaining a Distinction or Merit in the Business BTEC.

The Charter School North Dulwich is an inclusive, state funded school, recognised as one of the top 10% schools in the country for achievement in the sixth form. Head teacher, Christian Hicks, said today, “Our students have once again demonstrated their incredible perseverance and focus on excellence through these brilliant results. The past two years have been challenging for both students and staff as the government’s A level reforms came into full effect and I am extremely proud of the results today which evidence the hard work and commitment of everyone involved.”

The majority of our students have gained excellent grades in their A levels and Level 3 BTECs but there have been some exceptional individual performances:

Joseph Amadi gained four A* in Chemistry, Maths, Physics and Economics and is heading to Manchester to study a degree in Physics.

Tom Henderson gained three A* in Further Maths, Maths, and Economics and an A in Physics and will be starting his degree in Economics in September at Bristol.

Pam Thompson gained two Bs in Economics and Psychology and a Merit in Business BTEC and will now study International Business at Nottingham Trent

Kitty Ollard gained three A* in English, French and History. She will now be reading English Language and Literature at Oxford University.

Joseph Helm is also heading to Oxford to read English after gaining an A* in English, an A in French and a B in Music.

Amy Hill – gained three A* in Biology, French and Psychology and is heading to Birmingham to study Psychology.

Nasim Rahoui gained a Distinction in both ICT and Sport & Leisure BTECs, and a Merit in Business BTEC and will now be studying Computer Science at Westminster.

Georgia Muraszko gained A*s in Geography, Government & Politics and History and will be studying Politics and Modern History at Manchester.

Harvey Scott-Pirie gained three A* in Geography, Maths and Photography. He will now be studying an Art Foundation course at Kingston.

Kieran Hudson is starting his Civil Engineering apprenticeship at BDP architects after gaining a Merit in both Business and Sports & Leisure BTECs and a C grade in Sociology A level.

Clara Neather gained A*s in Economics, Maths and Further Maths and will be heading to Bristol to study Mathematics.

Shaun Olok-Jacobs gained A*s in Chemistry and Maths and an A in Physics and is heading to Bristol to start his degree in Chemistry.

Louis Challen Flynn gained A*s in English, History and his EPQ, and an A in Design Technology and will be going to Sheffield to study Architecture.

Halimat Raheem gained two Merits and a Distinction in Business, Performing Arts and Sports & Leisure and will now study Law at Birmingham City University.

Helena Kurlanski and Maya Gannon both gained three A*s in English, History and Psychology. Helena is heading to Leeds to study History and Maya will be going to Leeds to study English Literature.

Jem Wyse gained A*s in Maths, English and History and will now read English at Cambridge University.

Lily Murphy-Smith gained three A* Psychology, Religious Studies and Sociology and will now be studying Sociology at Bristol.

Molly Jones is heading to Oxford to read English after gaining A*s in English and History and an A in Spanish

Tessa Doubleday gained A*s in English and History and an A in Maths and will read English at Cambridge.

There were significant achievements across a range of subjects: English 97% passed with an A*-B grade, Maths 82%, History 82%, Physics 76%, Economics 82%, Geography 75%, Sociology 76%, Art 80%, French 82%.
