About the Role

Streatham Wells Primary is an exceptional one-form entry school in between Streatham Hill and Tulse Hill. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our team in September 2026.

Main purpose

The TA will:

● Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils

● Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion

● Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning, and experience a sense of achievement

We particularly welcome candidates who may want to teach in the future, looking for experience working in the classroom to develop practice.

The role involves supporting high‑quality teaching and learning by working closely with class teachers to deliver a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum, including supporting pupils with SEND. The post holder will help manage behaviour in line with school policies, maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment, use ICT to support learning, observe and feedback on pupil progress, and supervise pupils when required. They will assist with lesson preparation, assessment and classroom organisation, communicate effectively with staff, parents/carers and relevant professionals, and work collaboratively with colleagues. The role also requires a strong commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing, health and safety, and ongoing professional development in line with school expectations.
