This role offers an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher looking to begin their teaching journey in a supportive and development‑focused school environment.

Streatham Wells Primary is an exceptional one-form entry school in between Streatham Hill and Tulse Hill. What skills and experience we're looking for

Main purpose:

The teacher will:

Fulfill the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document

Meet the expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards

Deliver the school’s vision and values through their professional practice and conduct

Duties and responsibilities:

Teaching:

Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following the school’s plans, curriculum and schemes of work

Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment

Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils

Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils

Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils

Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge

Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for external tests

Further details about the role

The postholder will contribute to whole‑school organisation and strategic development by supporting the implementation of policies, curriculum provision and the school’s wider vision and ethos.

They will work collaboratively with colleagues to secure strong pupil outcomes, champion a curriculum subject and provide occasional cover where needed.


The role includes promoting pupil safety and wellbeing, maintaining high standards of behaviour, and fostering positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers. The teacher will engage fully in professional development, including appraisal processes and training within and beyond the school.


The successful candidate will work effectively with colleagues and external professionals, upholding the highest standards of professional conduct, punctuality and ethics, and working in line with statutory frameworks. A strong commitment to safeguarding is essential, including working with the DSL and following all relevant guidance.
