Premises Officer

About the Role

The Premises Officer ensures that the school site is maintained in a safe, clean and secure condition as required, and carries out tasks as may be necessary for effective site management.

What skills and experience we're looking for

Qualifications - Basic training and/or sound experience in one or more of the following: general maintenance, plumbing, electrical/building maintenance, heating systems, grounds work - Computer literate with good working knowledge of ICT including using the internet and Microsoft office suite - Desirable: Ordinary City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications in relevant areas, recognised time served in building trade or apprenticeship or appropriate experience Experience - Basic building or premises maintenance - Customer based experience - Cleaning work - Some DIY and building maintenance skills - Working in a team - Supervising a small team of staff in the absence of a line manager - Working with contractors - Knowledge and experience of working at heights (ladder usage) - Knowledge and experience of working with chemicals (cleaning) - Desirable: Security, including alarm systems
