Celebrations to mark progress on The Charter School East Dulwich permanent site

Students from the founding cohort at The Charter School East Dulwich joined local politicians on Friday, 6th October 2017, in a ceremony to celebrate the development of our new permanent school site on East Dulwich Grove.

Head Teacher Alex Crossman and a group of students joined with Helen Hayes, member of parliament for Dulwich and West Norwood, councillor Victoria Mills, London Borough of Southwark Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services, and mayor of Southwark Charlie Smith in helping to finish off the concrete slab that underpins the main teaching block.

‚Äč"This is what the free school movement is meant to be about,"

"driven by parental demand and committed to remaining close to its community."

Ms. Hayes

The event was hosted by Kier Construction, the building firm responsible for building the school and attended by the team of architects from Feilden Clegg Bradley, the studio that designed the school campus. Council officers from Southwark Regeneration, who are managing the project on behalf of The Charter Schools Educational Trust, were also present, along with representatives of the Education and Skills Funding Agency, which provides the funding for the build.
